South Korean memory factory supply is not affected by the epidemic! DRAM, flash memory prices are stable

Recently, with the increasing number of infected people, the South Korean government has raised the early warning of the new crown pneumonia epidemic to the highest level "severe". Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, the two global semiconductor giants, have naturally been drawn into the whirlpool of market opinion. So can the global memory chip price increase?

Recently, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have successively reported cases of new crown pneumonia among employees, which will inevitably cause the market to speculate about the spot price of memory. "One person is infected and 800 people are quarantined" is not only related to the factory's production progress and product shipment. If the situation is serious, it will inevitably cause a serious blow to operations.

According to statistics from the state technology, Samsung and SK Hynix in the fourth quarter of last year together captured 45.1% of the global NAND Flash market and 72.7% of the DRAM market. Despite the intensification of the epidemic, Trend Micro pointed out that the supply of South Korean memory factories has remained normal recently, and prices have been stable from last week to the present. Prices of mainstream products of DRAM and NAND Flash are flat today.

At the same time, Jibang Technology said that due to the high degree of automation of the memory production line and the low probability of downtime, it is expected that the memory supply should not be affected.

However, Taiwan media also pointed out that the market is paying attention to whether Taiwan and other memory factories such as Nanyake can benefit from converting orders.
