Samsung has sold 2 million 5G smart phones so far. Can Chinese manufacturers catch up?

According to the universmartphone report, on September 6, Qualcomm's technical strategy team leader JuneHee Lee revealed in a speech at the IFA in Berlin that Samsung has sold 2 million 5G phones since its first 5G mobile phone was launched in May. In addition, with the advent of the Galaxy Fold 5G and the Galaxy A90 5G, Samsung expects it will sell 4 million 5G smartphones by the end of the year.

Samsung's recently announced Galaxy A90 5G will be the cheapest 5G smartphone on the market, priced at 749 euros. The Galaxy Fold 5G will become Samsung's most expensive 5G smartphone.

It is understood that Samsung has launched four 5G smart phones such as Galaxy S10 5G, Galaxy Note10+ 5G, Galaxy A90 5G and Galaxy Fold 5G.

Huawei, yesterday, Huawei just released the latest generation of flagship mobile phone chips at the Consumer Electronics Show (IFA) in Berlin, Germany at 2019, the Kirin 990 series, including the Kirin 990 and the Kirin 990 5G. Among them, Kirin 990 5G is the world's first system-on-chip (SoC) with built-in full-scale 5G baseband. On August 5, ZTE’s Axon 10 Pro 5G version was officially launched, with an official price of 4,999 yuan (6G+128G).

On August 22nd, the iQOO Pro5G version of vivo was released, and the price was only 3,798 yuan.

According to the latest Jingdong Union sales data, Huawei's Mate20 X 5G has a monthly sales volume of around 4,500, while the later released iQOO Pro 5G version has a monthly sales volume of nearly 30,000.

Due to the relatively short release time, it is still difficult to determine the final sales of China's 5G smart phones.

However, according to the Strategy Analytics data, it is estimated that the global sales of 5G smartphones will reach 160 million units next year. David Kerr, senior vice president of Strategy Analytics, said that the sales of 5G mobile phones in China may reach 80 million in 2020, and it is expected to become the largest 5G smartphone market.
