Tesla Begins Offering Cybertruck for Lease Starting at $999 per Month

On November 8, Bloomberg reported that Tesla has begun leasing its highly anticipated electric pickup, the Cybertruck, starting at $999 per month (approximately 7,152 RMB).

According to Tesla's website, U.S. consumers can now lease the all-wheel-drive version of the Cybertruck with a down payment of $7,500, a three-year lease term, and a monthly payment of $999. Alternatively, with no down payment, U.S. consumers can lease the high-performance Cyberbeast version of the Cybertruck for a two-year lease term, with a monthly payment of $1,715.

After fulfilling most of the backlog of Cybertruck orders, Tesla is now offering the electric pickup for lease. The first deliveries of the Cybertruck are priced above $100,000, far higher than the $39,900 starting price Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced when unveiling the Cybertruck prototype in 2019.

While Cybertruck sales fall short of those of the Model Y SUV and Model 3 sedan, Tesla informed investors last month that the Cybertruck ranked as the third best-selling electric vehicle in the U.S. last quarter. However, Tesla has yet to report quarterly delivery numbers for the Cybertruck separately, instead grouping these figures with its two oldest models, the Model S sedan and Model X SUV.
