Supply to Huawei! Panasonic increases production of 5G-oriented PCB materials in China

According to a Nikkei report on the 19th, Panasonic will increase production of 5G-oriented PCB materials in China. Its plant in Guangzhou began to add PCB material production lines in mid-June and is expected to be put into use in the fall of 2021. It is reported that Panasonic's investment of about 8 billion yen this time, plans to increase production capacity to 1.5 times the current level. It is reported that the factory will supply Huawei and ZTE.

Japanese media pointed out that Panasonic also produces PCB materials in Japan and Taiwan, but because of optimistic about the rapid expansion of 5G demand in China (5G base station antennas, servers, etc.), it expects to meet the corresponding demand by increasing supply capacity. It is expected that Panasonic will supply the PCB materials produced by the PCB factory to Huawei and ZTE.

In addition, the report pointed out that due to the Sino-US opposition, the US government has strengthened its export controls on Huawei, but Panasonic predicts that the current US ban will not affect PCB materials. But planning ahead may create more opportunities.
