Intel: It is a high-performance 10nm node by the middle of this year, and will be committed to mass production of 7nm process

According to ASUS official micro news, Intel recently said in a shareholder meeting in response to questions from investors that mid-year this year will be a node of high-performance 10nm, and will be committed to mass production of 7nm process.

In addition, Intel also mentioned that they are investing a lot of resources to develop 5nm process. The current focus of work is to accelerate the mass production of 10nm process.

Previously, Intel's Chief Financial Officer George Davis also mentioned the future process development plan. He said that now 10nm production capacity is accelerating. Next, Intel will launch a 7nm process in 2021, then quickly switch to 5nm and regain its leadership.

George Davis also admitted that the 10nm process, that is, 10nm will not be as high as 14nm and 22nm. This remark has two meanings. First, in parallel with 14nm, 10nm products themselves are limited, and second, 10nm will only improve 1-2 generations (10nm +, 10nm ++) in order to quickly launch 7nm.

At the same time, George Davis warned the outside world that 10nm mass production, 7nm acceleration, and 5nm investment all require money. Considering that this part of the technology intersection is mainly concentrated in 2020-2021, it will inevitably affect Intel's gross profit margin.
