All employees suspend the outlying island program! TSMC encourages non-production line employees to work from home

According to the Economic Daily, a new type of coronavirus has spread globally, and Europe and other places have become the hardest hit areas. In this context, TSMC, a foundry leader, encourages non-production line employees to work from home, while the company has made all employees suspend the outlying island program.

On the evening of the 18th, TSMC announced that an employee had been diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia, so an internal decision was made to start a group office operation model.

In this regard, TSMC said that in addition to different regional offices, the group office model also includes the home office option. The company encourages non-production line employees to make more use of their home office by April 12. It is reported that the company's non-production line employees are estimated to have about 30,000 people.

As for outlying islands, TSMC had previously mainly avoided unnecessary business trips, and with the global epidemic intensifying, TSMC has suspended all employees' island plans.

However, at the same time, TSMC also emphasized that the current production line operation remains normal and operation is not affected.
